CHAMBER MEMBER OF THE MONTH
JANUARY 2009
The
Liberty Chamber of Commerce Board has selected Southern
Vinyl Window Manufacturing as the Chamber Member
of the Month for January 2009.
Over
50 yrs. ago Bill Gillespie formed what is now Southern
Vinyl Window Manufacturing. The company, presently
under the direction of Maria Gillespie and Francine
Gillespie Powers, produces energy-efficient replacement
vinyl windows and other home improvement products. Southern
Vinyl is a past recipient of the South Carolina Manufacturer
of the Year (under 200 employees) awarded by the
South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
Most
recently Maria started a new division of Southern
Window Mfg.: Southern Aluminum & Glass to serve
in the commercial division and storefronts. Southern
Aluminum & Glass specializes from small retail
to large commercial buildings and school renovations,
remodels, and new construction. At this time
she manages, owns, & operates three businesses:
Southern Vinyl Siding, Southern Vinyl Window Mfg.,
and Southern Aluminum & Glass.
Southern
Vinyl has supported the Liberty community through
grants to the Liberty Police department, through
personnel participation in community activities,
and through other activities benefitting the Liberty
community.
